This artwork by Volker Tannert achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in April 2017. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art auction, the work Untitled (Figur mit Mondrian-Bild) (Figure with Mondrian Painting) sold for EUR 8,750.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Volker Tannert; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ohne Titel (Unsere Wünsche wollen Kathedralen bauen) sold at auction in November 2015 with the realized price of EUR 13,640.00.
