Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Russian Pictures, which included the work Portrait Of Ardalion Petrovich Novosiltsev by Vladimir Borovikovsky. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 869,000.00 (€ 1,225,279.09) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Vladimir Borovikovsky - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of Prince Petr Vasilievich Lopukhin (1753-1827), Wearing The Star And Sash Of The Order Of St Andrew, The Star And Cross Of The Order Of St Vladimir, The Order Of Alexander Nevskii, The Order Of Malta And A Diamond Portrait Badge, which sold at auction in June 2014 for GBP 2,154,500.00 (€ 2,691,944.67).
Für andere Arbeiten von Vladimir Borovikovsky mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait Of Prince Petr Vasilievich Lopukhin (1753-1827), Wearing The Star And Sash Of The Order Of St Andrew, The Star And Cross Of The Order Of St Vladimir, The Order Of Alexander Nevskii, The Order Of Malta And A Diamond Portrait Badge beobachtet, die im Juni 2014 für GBP 2.154.500,00 (€ 2.691.944,67) versteigert wurde.
