Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work Sea Drift (Delius) by Vivian Forbes for GBP 446.50 (€ 741.73). This price was achieved in the auction Twentieth Century British Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Vivian Forbes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Dream in July last year with an auction result of GBP 2,772.00 (€ 3,310.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2001 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Sea Drift (Delius) von Vivian Forbes für GBP 446,50 (€ 741,73) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Twentieth Century British Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Vivian Forbes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Dream im Juli letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.772,00 (€ 3.310,26).
