This artwork by Vittore Ghislandi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2001. In the IMPORTANT OLD MASTER PICTURES auction, the work Portrait Of A Young Sculptor, Three-Quarter-Length, Holding A Bust sold for GBP 179,750.00 (€ 292,709.89) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 100,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Vittore Ghislandi; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait Of A Young Man In A Green Tunic sold at auction in July 2011 with the realized price of GBP 325,250.00 (€ 373,273.03).
