Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Virginia Berresford could be acquired at Christies in New York in February 2014 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Interiors auction, the work Shoals changed hands for USD 2,125.00 (€ 1,539.19) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Virginia Berresford achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lower Manhattan in April this year with an auction result of USD 47,880.00 (€ 43,369.57).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Virginia Berresford konnte im Februar 2014 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Interiors wechselte die Arbeit Shoals für USD 2.125,00 (€ 1.539,19) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Virginia Berresford erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lower Manhattan im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.880,00 (€ 43.369,57).
