This artwork by Violet McInnes achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Melbourne in April 2006. In the Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II auction, the work White Camellias sold for AUD 1,673.00 (€ 1,006.26) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 700.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Violet McInnes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life, Flowers And Fruit, which sold at auction in November 2005 for AUD 4,182.50 (€ 2,623.02).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Violet McInnes erzielte im April 2006 bei Christies in Melbourne einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II wurde die Arbeit White Camellias für AUD 1.673,00 (€ 1.006,26) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 700,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Violet McInnes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still Life, Flowers And Fruit beobachtet, die im November 2005 für AUD 4.182,50 (€ 2.623,02) versteigert wurde.
