Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2005 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art including Russian Pictures, which included the work Castello Dell' Ovo, Naples; Castello de Lerici; La Marina Spiaggia, Pozzuoli; and Carro Massi, Lerici by Vincenzo Loria. The price achieved of GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,612.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Other works by Vincenzo Loria have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2005 the work A game of cards; and Young and old was auctioned for GBP 2,160.00 (€ 3,135.12).
