Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two unusual citron-lemons (Citrus limonimedica) by Vincenzo Leonardi was sold in the Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours auction at Christies in London in July this year. The price achieved of GBP 18,900.00 (€ 22,050.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Vincenzo Leonardi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Une Grande Outarde (Otis Tarda L.), which sold at auction in March 2021 for EUR 60,000.00.

Die Arbeit Two unusual citron-lemons (Citrus limonimedica) von Vincenzo Leonardi wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 18.900,00 (€ 22.050,57) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Vincenzo Leonardi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Une Grande Outarde (Otis Tarda L.) beobachtet, die im März 2021 für EUR 60.000,00 versteigert wurde.
