A top price for Vincenzo Agnetti
When the work Ritratto di abitante (Portrait of a citizen) by Vincenzo Agnetti was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2015, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 60,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at GBP 182,500.00 (€ 255,271.92). This high result makes Ritratto di abitante (Portrait of a citizen) the most expensive artwork by Vincenzo Agnetti that we have observed at auctions so far.
