Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Bonhams held the auction Orientalist Art, which included the work In the harem by Vincent G. Stiepevich. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 15,250.00 (€ 18,067.13) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Vincent G. Stiepevich - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Russian In The Harem, which sold at auction in November 2008 for GBP 37,250.00 (€ 45,038.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Bonhams die Auktion Orientalist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit In the harem von Vincent G. Stiepevich zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 15.250,00 (€ 18.067,13) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Vincent G. Stiepevich mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Russian In The Harem beobachtet, die im November 2008 für GBP 37.250,00 (€ 45.038,05) versteigert wurde.
