The work Seascape with sailing ships by Vilhelm Melbye was sold in the Paintings, furniture and varia auction at Bruun Rasmussen in July this year. Here, the estimate of DKK 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for DKK 3,200.00 (€ 429.18). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vilhelm Melbye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Spanish felucca, British warships and other shipping in the Mediterranean off Gibraltar in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 43,250.00 (€ 53,887.60).
Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Seascape with sailing ships von Vilhelm Melbye wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion Paintings, furniture and varia bei Bruun Rasmussen versteigert. Dabei wurde der Schätzpreis von DKK 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für DKK 3.200,00 (€ 429,18) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Vilhelm Melbye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Spanish felucca, British warships and other shipping in the Mediterranean off Gibraltar im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 43.250,00 (€ 53.887,60).
