Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2024 a collector was able to acquire the work Mountain scape with a river at sunset by Vilhelm Melbye for DKK 7,000.00 (€ 6,117.81). This price was achieved in the auction Paintings, furniture and varia at Bruun Rasmussen and was even below the estimate range of DKK 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Vilhelm Melbye have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Spanish felucca, British warships and other shipping in the Mediterranean off Gibraltar in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 43,250.00 (€ 53,887.60).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2024 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Mountain scape with a river at sunset von Vilhelm Melbye für DKK 7.000,00 (€ 6.117,81) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Paintings, furniture and varia bei Bruun Rasmussen erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von DKK 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Vilhelm Melbye auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Spanish felucca, British warships and other shipping in the Mediterranean off Gibraltar im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 43.250,00 (€ 53.887,60).
