Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Vilhelm Melbye could be acquired at Bruun Rasmussen in March this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Paintings, furniture and varia auction, the work Seascape with sailing ships at sunset changed hands for DKK 12,000.00 (€ 1,610.38) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of DKK 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vilhelm Melbye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Spanish felucca, British warships and other shipping in the Mediterranean off Gibraltar in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 43,250.00 (€ 53,887.60).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Vilhelm Melbye konnte im März diesen Jahres bei Bruun Rasmussen für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Paintings, furniture and varia wechselte die Arbeit Seascape with sailing ships at sunset für DKK 12.000,00 (€ 1.610,38) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von DKK 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Vilhelm Melbye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Spanish felucca, British warships and other shipping in the Mediterranean off Gibraltar im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 43.250,00 (€ 53.887,60).
