Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction European Fine Living, which included the work Le connoisseur by Victor Marais-Milton. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,080.00 (€ 3,802.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Victor Marais-Milton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Musical Cardinals in November 2015 with an auction result of EUR 20,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion European Fine Living durch, in der auch die Arbeit Le connoisseur von Victor Marais-Milton zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.080,00 (€ 3.802,07) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Victor Marais-Milton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Musical Cardinals im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 20.000,00.
