Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work French La Bonne Pipe by Victor Marais-Milton was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,231.76). Admittedly, works by Victor Marais-Milton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Musical Cardinals in November 2015 with an auction result of EUR 20,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit French La Bonne Pipe von Victor Marais-Milton im November 2008 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.231,76) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Victor Marais-Milton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Musical Cardinals im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 20.000,00.
