Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Paisaje by Victor Manuel was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 13,750.00 (€ 11,556.56). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Victor Manuel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Carnaval (Escena de comparsa) in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 319,500.00 (€ 302,041.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Paisaje von Victor Manuel im November 2017 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 13.750,00 (€ 11.556,56) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Victor Manuel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Carnaval (Escena de comparsa) im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 319.500,00 (€ 302.041,97).
