Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of A Woman by Victor Rubin was sold in the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Melbourne in November 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 1,195.00 (€ 749.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Victor Rubin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flinders Street, which sold at auction in April 2005 for AUD 3,824.00 (€ 2,318.85).
