Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Victor Ekpuk achieved an unexpectedly high price at Artcurial in Paris in November last year. In the African Contemporary Art auction, the work Head 3, 2015 sold for EUR 9,184.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 4,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Victor Ekpuk - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Children of the Full Moon, which sold at auction in October last year for GBP 19,125.00 (€ 22,280.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Victor Ekpuk erzielte im November letzten Jahres bei Artcurial in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion African Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Head 3, 2015 für EUR 9.184,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 4.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Victor Ekpuk mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Children of the Full Moon beobachtet, die im Oktober letzten Jahres für GBP 19.125,00 (€ 22.280,41) versteigert wurde.
