Auction result well in line with expectations
The work St Francis Receiving The Stigmata by Vicente Carducho was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in April 2015. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,866.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vicente Carducho achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Christ In Contemplation Before His Crucifixion in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 322,000.00 (€ 361,032.80).
