Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Umberto I, King of Italy (1844-1900), in blue coat with red bordered silver collar, silver epaulettes, white shirt, wearing the gold jewel of the Royal Sardinian Order of the Most Holy Annunciation, the purple and red moiré sash and badge of the Roy by Ventura Domenico was sold in the THE COLLECTION OF S.A.R. LA PRINCIPESSA REALE DI SAVOIA auction at Christies in London in April 2005. The price achieved of GBP 360.00 (€ 532.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ventura Domenico - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of A Young Lady, Seated In A Floral Embroidered Armchair, which sold at auction in December 2007 for GBP 1,062.50 (€ 1,443.76).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 360,00 (€ 532,85) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Ventura Domenico mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait Of A Young Lady, Seated In A Floral Embroidered Armchair beobachtet, die im Dezember 2007 für GBP 1.062,50 (€ 1.443,76) versteigert wurde.
