In June 2007 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction Russian Pictures, Works of Art and Icons, which included the work Peasant On Horseback by Vasily Grachev. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,640.00 (€ 3,917.63), 32% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Vasily Grachev have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Bronze Group Of A Mounted Cossack With Hounds in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 46,000.00 (€ 29,547.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 32 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2007 führte Sothebys in Olympia die Auktion Russian Pictures, Works of Art and Icons durch, in der auch die Arbeit Peasant On Horseback von Vasily Grachev zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.640,00 (€ 3.917,63) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Vasily Grachev auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Bronze Group Of A Mounted Cossack With Hounds im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 46.000,00 (€ 29.547,79).
