Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Pachique by Valentín de Zubiaurre was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 13,750.00 (€ 16,624.78). Admittedly, works by Valentín de Zubiaurre have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Spanishcampesinos Vascos (Basque Peasants) in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 72,500.00 (€ 101,518.76).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Pachique von Valentín de Zubiaurre im November 2008 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 13.750,00 (€ 16.624,78) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Valentín de Zubiaurre auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Spanishcampesinos Vascos (Basque Peasants) im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 72.500,00 (€ 101.518,76).
