Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction Japanese Art & Design, which included the work The city of Paris, France, from the series Famous Places Abroad by Utagawa Yoshitora. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,075.50 (€ 1,545.55). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Utagawa Yoshitora - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Igirisukoku (England), which sold at auction in March 2003 for USD 5,019.00 (€ 4,604.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion Japanese Art & Design durch, in der auch die Arbeit The city of Paris, France, from the series Famous Places Abroad von Utagawa Yoshitora zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.075,50 (€ 1.545,55) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Utagawa Yoshitora mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Igirisukoku (England) beobachtet, die im März 2003 für USD 5.019,00 (€ 4.604,59) versteigert wurde.
