Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2003 Christies in New York held the auction AN IMPORTANT COLLECTION OF JAPANESE PRINTS, which included the work Kanagawa Yokohama Miyozakicho yujoya no fukei (Landscape of the brothels of Miyozaki district, Yokohama, Kanagawa) by Utagawa Yoshitora. It changed hands for a price of USD 2,151.00 (€ 1,973.39) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,800.00 – 2,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Utagawa Yoshitora - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Igirisukoku (England), which sold at auction in March 2003 for USD 5,019.00 (€ 4,604.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2003 führte Christies in New York die Auktion AN IMPORTANT COLLECTION OF JAPANESE PRINTS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Kanagawa Yokohama Miyozakicho yujoya no fukei (Landscape of the brothels of Miyozaki district, Yokohama, Kanagawa) von Utagawa Yoshitora zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 2.151,00 (€ 1.973,39) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.800,00 – 2.200,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Utagawa Yoshitora mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Igirisukoku (England) beobachtet, die im März 2003 für USD 5.019,00 (€ 4.604,59) versteigert wurde.
