Auction result well in line with expectations
In July last year Sothebys in London held the auction Masters of the Woodblock: Important Japanese Prints, which included the work The lovers Shirai Gompachi and Tamaya Komurasaki by Utagawa Toyokuni. It changed hands for a price of GBP 18,900.00 (€ 22,569.96) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Other works by Utagawa Toyokuni have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in September 2021 the work Edo Period (1615-1868), Early 19Th Century was auctioned for USD 44,062.50 (€ 38,060.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Masters of the Woodblock: Important Japanese Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit The lovers Shirai Gompachi and Tamaya Komurasaki von Utagawa Toyokuni zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 18.900,00 (€ 22.569,96) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Utagawa Toyokuni konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im September 2021 die Arbeit Edo Period (1615-1868), Early 19Th Century für USD 44.062,50 (€ 38.060,38) versteigert.
