UTAGAWA TOYOKUNI (1769-1825) A group of three surimono Woodblock print surimono , embellished with metallic pigments and embossing, each signed Toyokuni ga , comprising: 1) Man playing shamisen 2) Man writing on a fan 3) Coutesen playing hanetsuki Shikishiban surimono: 1) 5 5 ⁄ 8 x 6 in. (14.3 x 15.2 cm.) 2) 6 x 6.1/6 in. (15.2 x 15.6 cm.) 3) 6 x 6.1/6 in. (15.2 x 15.6 cm.)
Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of USD 1,008.00 (€ 1,030.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Utagawa Toyokuni achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Edo Period (1615-1868), Early 19Th Century in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 44,062.50 (€ 38,060.38).

Die Arbeit A Group Of Three Surimono von Utagawa Toyokuni kam im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.008,00 (€ 1.030,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Utagawa Toyokuni erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Edo Period (1615-1868), Early 19Th Century im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 44.062,50 (€ 38.060,38).
