Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A noblewoman and attendants making a giant snowball by Utagawa Toyokuni was sold in the Masters of the Woodblock: Important Japanese Prints auction at Sothebys in London in July last year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 27,720.00 (€ 33,102.60) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Other works by Utagawa Toyokuni have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in September 2021 the work Edo Period (1615-1868), Early 19Th Century was auctioned for USD 44,062.50 (€ 38,060.38).

Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 27.720,00 (€ 33.102,60) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00.
