The price achieved of USD 5,975.00 (€ 5,481.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Shimpan Oranda uki-e Egefutekoku senkei kodai (Newly published Dutch perspective picture: the pyramids of Egypt) is the most expensive artwork by Utagawa Kuninaga that we have observed at auctions so far.
