This artwork by Utagawa Kuninaga achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2021. In the Japanese Woodblock Prints | Including the Sokolov Collection auction, the work Evening Cool at Ryogoku Bridge (Ryogoku yusuzumi no zu) sold for GBP 3,528.00 (€ 4,104.91) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Utagawa Kuninaga; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Shimpan Oranda uki-e Egefutekoku senkei kodai (Newly published Dutch perspective picture: the pyramids of Egypt) sold at auction in March 2003 with the realized price of USD 5,975.00 (€ 5,481.65).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Utagawa Kuninaga erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Japanese Woodblock Prints | Including the Sokolov Collection wurde die Arbeit Evening Cool at Ryogoku Bridge (Ryogoku yusuzumi no zu) für GBP 3.528,00 (€ 4.104,91) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Utagawa Kuninaga; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Shimpan Oranda uki-e Egefutekoku senkei kodai (Newly published Dutch perspective picture: the pyramids of Egypt) im März 2003 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 5.975,00 (€ 5.481,65).
