This artwork by Utagawa Hiroshige II achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2021. In the Fine Japanese Prints auction, the work Yushima Tenjin Shrine (Yushima Tenjin) sold for GBP 2,772.00 (€ 3,306.41) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Utagawa Hiroshige II achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Album comprenant 62 estampes de la série Shokoku meisho hyakkei (les cent vues célèbres des provinces) in June 2007 with an auction result of EUR 45,600.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 98 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Utagawa Hiroshige II erzielte im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Japanese Prints wurde die Arbeit Yushima Tenjin Shrine (Yushima Tenjin) für GBP 2.772,00 (€ 3.306,41) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.400,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Utagawa Hiroshige II erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Album comprenant 62 estampes de la série Shokoku meisho hyakkei (les cent vues célèbres des provinces) im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 45.600,00.
