Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Christies in New York held the auction Japanese and Korean Art, which included the work Bikuni bashi secchu (Bikuni Bridge in snow) by Utagawa Hiroshige II. It changed hands for a price of USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,476.82) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Utagawa Hiroshige II achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Album comprenant 62 estampes de la série Shokoku meisho hyakkei (les cent vues célèbres des provinces) in June 2007 with an auction result of EUR 45,600.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Japanese and Korean Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bikuni bashi secchu (Bikuni Bridge in snow) von Utagawa Hiroshige II zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 3.780,00 (€ 3.476,82) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Utagawa Hiroshige II erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Album comprenant 62 estampes de la série Shokoku meisho hyakkei (les cent vues célèbres des provinces) im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 45.600,00.
