Each a woodblock print, from the series One Hundred Famous Views in the Various Provinces (Shokoku meisho hyakkei), signed Hiroshige ga, censor's seal aratame, published by Uoya Eikichi, and comprising:
- Snow on the Kiso Gorge in Shinano Province (Shinshu Kiso no yuki), 10 th month 1859
- Kintai Bridge at Iwakuni in Suo Province (Suo Iwakuni Kintai-bashi), 11 th month 1859
Each vertical oban:
36.1 x 24.4 cm., 14¼ x 9⅝ in. (the first) 34 x 23.8 cm., 13⅜ x 9⅜ in. (the second)

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two woodblock prints by Utagawa Hiroshige II was sold in the Fine Japanese Prints auction at Sothebys in London in December 2021. The price achieved of GBP 1,764.00 (€ 2,104.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Utagawa Hiroshige II achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Album comprenant 62 estampes de la série Shokoku meisho hyakkei (les cent vues célèbres des provinces) in June 2007 with an auction result of EUR 45,600.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Two woodblock prints von Utagawa Hiroshige II wurde im Dezember 2021 in der Auktion Fine Japanese Prints bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.764,00 (€ 2.104,08) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Utagawa Hiroshige II erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Album comprenant 62 estampes de la série Shokoku meisho hyakkei (les cent vues célèbres des provinces) im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 45.600,00.
