Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Coast off Yokohama (Yokohama kaigan zue) by Utagawa Hiroshige II was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2021. The price achieved of GBP 2,268.00 (€ 2,705.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Utagawa Hiroshige II achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Album comprenant 62 estampes de la série Shokoku meisho hyakkei (les cent vues célèbres des provinces) in June 2007 with an auction result of EUR 45,600.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Coast off Yokohama (Yokohama kaigan zue) von Utagawa Hiroshige II kam im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.268,00 (€ 2.705,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Utagawa Hiroshige II erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Album comprenant 62 estampes de la série Shokoku meisho hyakkei (les cent vues célèbres des provinces) im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 45.600,00.
