In September 2021 Christies held the auction Important Japanese Art, which included the work Nikko Kirifuri No Taki (Kirifuri Waterfall At Nikko) by Utagawa Hiroshige II. The result of USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,455.13) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Utagawa Hiroshige II achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Album comprenant 62 estampes de la série Shokoku meisho hyakkei (les cent vues célèbres des provinces) in June 2007 with an auction result of EUR 45,600.00.
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2021 führte Christies die Auktion Important Japanese Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Nikko Kirifuri No Taki (Kirifuri Waterfall At Nikko) von Utagawa Hiroshige II zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.455,13) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Utagawa Hiroshige II erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Album comprenant 62 estampes de la série Shokoku meisho hyakkei (les cent vues célèbres des provinces) im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 45.600,00.
