Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Tradition Travel TransitionJapanese Art across the Centuries, which included the work Edo period (1615-1868), dated 1859 by Utagawa Hiroshige II. The price achieved of GBP 1,275.00 (€ 1,496.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Utagawa Hiroshige II achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Album comprenant 62 estampes de la série Shokoku meisho hyakkei (les cent vues célèbres des provinces) in June 2007 with an auction result of EUR 45,600.00.
