Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2000 Christies in Milan held the auction Arte del XX secolo, which included the work La cantoniera nuova by Ubaldo Oppi. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of ITL 50,000,000.00 – 70,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of ITL 51,700,000.00 (€ 44,339.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Ubaldo Oppi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Giovani donne al mare in April 2019 with an auction result of EUR 200,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2000 führte Christies in Mailand die Auktion Arte del XX secolo durch, in der auch die Arbeit La cantoniera nuova von Ubaldo Oppi zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von ITL 50.000.000,00 – 70.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von ITL 51.700.000,00 (€ 44.339,62) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ubaldo Oppi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Giovani donne al mare im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 200.000,00.
