Upper estimate price exceeded by 40 %.
The work Unknown by Tsukioka Yoshitoshi was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in September last year. It achieved a price of USD 2,805.00 (€ 2,867.22), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 40%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tsukioka Yoshitoshi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tsuki junidai (Twelve aspects of the moon) in September 2007 with an auction result of USD 241,000.00 (€ 169,491.53).
