A top price for Tsukioka Yoshitoshi
In September 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Japanese and Korean Art, which included the work Tsuki junidai (Twelve aspects of the moon) by Tsukioka Yoshitoshi. The »bidding war« ended at USD 241,000.00 (€ 169,491.53), 21% above the upper estimate. With this result, Tsuki junidai (Twelve aspects of the moon) is even the most expensive work of art by Tsukioka Yoshitoshi that we have observed at auctions so far.
