Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Shōchikubai Yushima no kakegaku by Tsukioka Yoshitoshi was auctioned at Bonhams in London in September this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,408.00 (€ 1,330.31) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tsukioka Yoshitoshi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tsuki junidai (Twelve aspects of the moon) in September 2007 with an auction result of USD 241,000.00 (€ 169,491.53).
