Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Hoshiai (The Ox-herd Kengyu and the Weaver Maiden Orihime meeting on the night of Seventh day, Seventh month) by Tsukioka Settei was sold in the Japanese And Korean Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2008. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,750.00 (€ 3,005.38), 19% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Tsukioka Settei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shunsho Higi (Secret Delights For A Spring Evening) in September 2004 with an auction result of USD 21,510.00 (€ 17,323.02).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Hoshiai (The Ox-herd Kengyu and the Weaver Maiden Orihime meeting on the night of Seventh day, Seventh month) von Tsukioka Settei wurde im März 2008 in der Auktion Japanese And Korean Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.750,00 (€ 3.005,38) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tsukioka Settei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Shunsho Higi (Secret Delights For A Spring Evening) im September 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 21.510,00 (€ 17.323,02).
