Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work Fishing vessels on the straits of Gibraltar by Tristram Ellis for GBP 64.63 (€ 104.35). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 250.00 – 350.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tristram Ellis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Epping Forest, Walthamstow in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,711.09).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2001 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Fishing vessels on the straits of Gibraltar von Tristram Ellis für GBP 64,63 (€ 104,35) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 250,00 – 350,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tristram Ellis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Epping Forest, Walthamstow im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.000,00 (€ 26.711,09).
