In October 2010 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters & 19th Century Art, which included the work Washing clothes on the Nile at Cairo, with feluccas by Tristram Ellis. The result of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,153.02) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tristram Ellis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Epping Forest, Walthamstow in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,711.09).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters & 19th Century Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Washing clothes on the Nile at Cairo, with feluccas von Tristram Ellis zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.153,02) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tristram Ellis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Epping Forest, Walthamstow im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.000,00 (€ 26.711,09).
