Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work A view of Lake Como with a bell tower in the foreground by Tristram Ellis for GBP 235.00 (€ 379.42). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tristram Ellis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Epping Forest, Walthamstow in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,711.09).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2001 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A view of Lake Como with a bell tower in the foreground von Tristram Ellis für GBP 235,00 (€ 379,42) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tristram Ellis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Epping Forest, Walthamstow im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.000,00 (€ 26.711,09).
