The actors Onoe Kikugoro as Goinosuke Takenari and Nakamura Kiyosaburo as Keisei Takasago in the play Keisei Asakusa no kane [The Belle of Asakusa] performed at the Ichimura Theatre in November 1754, signed Torii Kiyomitsu hitsu, published by Hanmoto Sakai-ya, very good impression and benizuri colours, very good condition

In November 2007 Christies in London held the auction The Bob Moore Collection of Japanese Art and Design, which included the work Unknown by Torii Kiyomitsu I. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 4,550.84). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Torii Kiyomitsu I - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Courtesans Under Blossoming Plum, which sold at auction in September 2020 for USD 16,250.00 (€ 13,867.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Bob Moore Collection of Japanese Art and Design durch, in der auch die Arbeit Unknown von Torii Kiyomitsu I zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.250,00 (€ 4.550,84) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Torii Kiyomitsu I mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Courtesans Under Blossoming Plum beobachtet, die im September 2020 für USD 16.250,00 (€ 13.867,55) versteigert wurde.
