Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2003 Christies in New York held the auction AN IMPORTANT COLLECTION OF JAPANESE PRINTS, which included the work Torii Kiyomitsu by Torii Kiyomitsu I. It changed hands for a price of USD 2,390.00 (€ 2,192.66) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 2,000.00 – 2,500.00. Admittedly, works by Torii Kiyomitsu I have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Courtesans Under Blossoming Plum in September 2020 with an auction result of USD 16,250.00 (€ 13,867.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2003 führte Christies in New York die Auktion AN IMPORTANT COLLECTION OF JAPANESE PRINTS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Torii Kiyomitsu von Torii Kiyomitsu I zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 2.390,00 (€ 2.192,66) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 2.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Torii Kiyomitsu I auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Courtesans Under Blossoming Plum im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 13.867,55).
