Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by Torii Kiyomasu II was sold in the Iron and InkPrints and Paintings, featuring Tetsubin from the Crawford Collection auction at Bonhams in New York in July last year. The price achieved of USD 701.25 (€ 687.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 500.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Torii Kiyomasu II achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Edo Period (1615-1868), 1720S-1730S in March 2019 with an auction result of USD 37,575.00 (€ 33,465.44).
