Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Calligraphy In Seal Script by Tong Yu was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 18,750.00 (€ 2,213.17). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tong Yu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Birds And Flowers in November 2005 with an auction result of HKD 264,000.00 (€ 28,885.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Calligraphy In Seal Script von Tong Yu im April 2017 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 18.750,00 (€ 2.213,17) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tong Yu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Birds And Flowers im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 264.000,00 (€ 28.885,50).
