Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Tompkins Harrison Matteson could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Santa'S Workshop changed hands for USD 16,250.00 (€ 11,540.37) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tompkins Harrison Matteson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work George Washington at Valley Forge in January 2009 with an auction result of USD 314,500.00 (€ 245,626.37).
