Auction result well in line with expectations

The work H.M.S. Northumberland and other ships of the so-called 'Black Battlefleet' at sea by Tommaso de Simone was sold in the Maritime auction at Christies in London in November 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 750.00 (€ 1,050.19) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tommaso de Simone achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work H.M.S. Exmouth signalling her arrival at Naples in February 2004 with an auction result of USD 28,680.00 (€ 23,052.81).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit H.M.S. Northumberland and other ships of the so-called 'Black Battlefleet' at sea von Tommaso de Simone wurde im November 2007 in der Auktion Maritime bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 750,00 (€ 1.050,19) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tommaso de Simone erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit H.M.S.
