It achieved a price of GBP 2,467.50 (€ 3,542.13), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 23%. Admittedly, works by Tommaso de Simone have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work H.M.S. Exmouth signalling her arrival at Naples in February 2004 with an auction result of USD 28,680.00 (€ 23,052.81).
